Not for the folk in Portugal, Spain, Greece and etc..
Recently during a interview with The Telegraph, Playstation CEO, Jim Ryan commented saying that he thinks that 70£, 79.99€ and 69.99$ games is a fair price for the amount of entertainment you are getting out of them.
Jim Ryan commented on this after The Telegraph ask him if Demon Souls price was fair :
Demon’s Souls has an RRP of £70 on PS5 – significantly more than gamers had been accustomed to paying for PS4 games. Do you consider that a fair price for a video game?
“Yes, yes, I do. If you measure the hours of entertainment provided by a video game, such as Demon’s Souls compared to any other form of entertainment, I think that’s a very straightforward comparison to draw.”
Note that also on another interview with Bloomberg, the CEO did comment saying that it was considering even higher prices.
“I can say that that report that we were considering higher prices for first party games is categorically false.”
What do you guys think about the price increase of Sony First Party games? Is it a bit too much? Here on Hyped Pixels we are worried about these price increases on countries with less purchase power like Portugal and Spain where sometimes 80€ is a weekly salary.
